You might be doing all the right things and the best you can for your relationship, but even doing the best you can is not enough. In fact, doing is never enough, if you neglect Being. The ego knows nothing of Being, but believes you will eventually be saved by doing. If you are in the grip of the ego, you believe that doing more and more you will eventually accumulate enough “doings” to make yourself complete at some point in the future. You won’t.
You will only lose yourself in doing. How do you bring Being into your life and relationships? You are a human being. Mastery of life is not a question of control, but of finding balance between human and Being. Human is form and Being is formless.

Just wanted to share a moment in the book that particularly moved me.
When you walk thru a beautiful botanical garden, you feel open and light, you feel love, you see beauty. You don’t judge the shape and the placement of every leaf. The leaves are of all sizes and shapes and they face every which way and that is what makes them beautiful.
What if you felt that way about people?
You have the power to create. Your power is so strong that whatever you believe comes true. You create yourself, whatever you believe you are. You are the way you are because that is what you believe about yourself. Your whole reality, everything you believe, is your creation. You have the same power as any other human in the world. The main difference between you and someone else is how you apply your power, what you create with your power. You may be similar to others in many ways, but no one in the whole world lives her life the way you do.
You have practiced all of your life to be what you are, and you do it so well that you master what you believe you are. You master your own personality, your own beliefs; you master every action, every reaction. You practice for years and years, and you achieve the level of mastery to be what you believe you are. Once we can see that all of us are masters, we can see what kind of mastery we have.
Ok, the truth is, I don’t get the time to read my books and I really do love reading. In my daily busy life, with so much work, my yoga classes and late socializing with my friends, I hardly find the time to read .. but i have to say this, once i open Emily Barr’s book, there is No time for work, no time for my boyfriend, yoga or friends anymore.. until i finish the book i just started !! Emily You seriously became one of my Best Friends. Thank you !!
