How to be what we are Not

Holding in my feelings to spare someone else’s makes me sick. My energy is now trapped, because I did not let it go direct. If directness is honesty, does that mean I lied? Yes, to myself. I have found myself in unpleasant and uncomfortable situation, where I spent my time with someone, I did not want to be with. I did not enjoy one second of it and thought of hundreds of better things and activities I could do instead.

I like to be honest with others, however I got stuck and felt I could not express myself with love, if I was direct. I blocked myself from doing so. In a fear of hurting someone, I said nothing and hurt myself. Now I suffer from my dishonesty to myself. This powerful force of disagreement within myself feels heavy in my stomach. I can not tolerate myself for creating this knot of energies and question my own inner truth.

Only truthfulness could help, but I felt lost for words to soften the truth. I have chosen silence rather then honesty. So I happened to be what I am not, doing things I don’t want to do. Lesson learnt: Always connect with your true feelings and be honest with others.

A Code of Living

Have you got a code you live by? I have always been living by codes. I have even created codes within the codes, which uniquely represents set of values, I actively live by, apply and practise. Here are some codes of mine.

I love life – I am life, I am love
Because everything is only beautiful, when you love it. Love in action only produces happiness. Love will give you inner peace. It will change everything. Seek beauty everywhere and in everyone.

Power of my word
Speak with love. Don’t use your word to speak against yourself. Use the power of your word in the direction of love. Read my Change the word to change your world post.

Live one day at a time
Keep your attention on today and stay in the present moment. Enjoy now. If you don’t enjoy what is happening right now, you will always wish it to be different than it is. Not enjoying what is happening right now is being only half alive. Also Right now is the youngest you will ever get, make the most of it. Use your time.

Make time for self reflection
Have ‘you’ time. Separate your body and mind from you. Just be yourself. Soul searching and self examination that goes along with this one.

Do not judge
Never judge. Never criticise. Not yourself not others. Simply meet people where they are and as they are.

I would also love to share the tools shared by Miguel Ruiz in his book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom. The book reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Whenever you hear or read anything of a spiritual nature, that moves you or touches your soul, you are not learning something .. You are remembering what you have always known. It is a gentle awakening. Do you wonder what those Four Agreements are?

1. Be impeccable with your word – powerful gift we have and we use it against ourselves.
2. Don’t take anything personally – Nothing others do is because of you.
3. Don’t make assumptions – Communicate with others clearly.
4. Always Do Your Best – Simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment and regret.

In response to Daily Prompt: I Walk the Line

I am not a runner, never have been and never thought of being a runner, yet I Run. Everyday. It happened in March on one silent morning, I woke up with empty mind, rolled out of my bed put some leggings on and sports bra. My yoga gear. But then I put shoes on, trainers lookalike shoes. I tie my shoelaces and without any thoughts, I was out of the doors. I found myself on the road – running –  without looking into a mirror I skipped all my lifelong morning’s lazy habits. An Extraordinary Morning. Passing by people on their way to work and heavy traffic, I don’t hear anything but my heart – pumping, my breath calm, I became apreciatively aware of every tree I passed by, the morning air, the road leading me, my feet – running. I run down to beach, but really, where was I running ? Nothing and no-one could stop me, I wanted to run and so I was running. I run along the beach, some people here in their morning stretching routines, some practising tai chi, some people swimming in the sea, I take a deep inhale of that seawater air, my feet unstoppable, my mind wakes up. It feels so natural, so peaceful, I feel suprisingly comfortable – running. I felt so alive. Since that day i have been running almost everyday, I bought myself real running trainers and I now get greeted by other runners I pass by on my runs.
